The portfolio
Selected work
The three divisions do work that photographs badly and matters enormously — a coil you will never see, a terrace that falls correctly, a joint in the right place. We would rather show it properly than not at all.
The portfolio is being assembled. Amalfi is a new house, and we are photographing jobs as they close rather than borrowing anyone else's. Until then, the entries below describe the kind of work each division takes on, so you can judge the scope before you call. Nothing here is presented as a finished Amalfi project.
By division
The kind of work we take on
Ten representative engagements, three or four to a division. Each describes a type of job, its typical setting and what the work actually consists of.
Rooftop plant replacement, select-service hotel
The division's standard commercial job: four to ten packaged rooftop units at the end of their life on a building that cannot stop selling rooms. Survey first, then a staged changeout taking one unit at a time, curb adapters fabricated rather than improvised, and condenser coils coated before the first season of salt reaches them.

Kitchen refrigeration and makeup air, restaurant group
Walk-in coolers, remote condensing units, prep refrigeration and ice machines held on one schedule across several locations, with makeup air balanced against the hood so the dining room is not pulling the front door shut. Grease waste lines and condensate treatment run on the same calendar, because in a kitchen they fail in the same week.

Chiller service and controls, retail centre
A multi-tenant plaza where every suite is billed for comfort nobody is measuring. The work is a full equipment inventory, a chiller and cooling-tower service interval written for a climate that cools twelve months of the year, and building controls set so the landlord can see a failure before a tenant telephones about it.

Exterior paint cycle, waterfront residence
On the water a coating sold as seven-year work gives out in two, so the cycle is shortened rather than the product oversold. Render cracks cut out and made good, sealants and expansion joints renewed before anything is sprayed, and the elevation facing the Gulf treated as a separate specification from the three that are sheltered.

Terrace, dock and seawall programme
Stone and dock boards washed on a fortnightly interval before the staining sets rather than after, coping lifted and re-bedded where it has worked loose, and fixings changed to marine-grade stainless as they are found. The seawall is photographed at the same points twice a year so movement shows up as a comparison instead of a surprise.

House systems and watch, seasonal residence
A house empty for five months of the year, which is when the expensive failures happen. Climate and dehumidification held to a set point rather than switched off, the generator run under load quarterly, lift and pool service coordinated, and a walk of the interior and exterior on an agreed interval with photographs sent the same day.

Wine room and specialty cooling
Where the two divisions meet. A room that has to hold a temperature and a humidity band for decades, which means a sealed envelope and a vapour barrier before any decision about cooling, redundant equipment because a single unit failing in August is a loss rather than an inconvenience, and an alarm that reaches a telephone and not just a wall.

Restaurant tenant buildout, shell space
A buildout where the rent clock is running and the kitchen drives everything. Grease interceptor, hood and makeup air, gas and power resolved on paper before a wall goes up, inspections sequenced so one failure does not cost a fortnight, and a single party holding the drawings, the trades, the permits and the opening date.

Primary bath and terrace renovation
Stone work where the tolerances are visible from a metre away. Falls set and checked with a straightedge before a tile is ordered, waterproofing flood-tested and photographed rather than taken on trust, movement joints at the thresholds where the building actually moves, and the terrace detailed so the membrane can be reached again without demolishing it.

Office suite refit, occupied building
Work done around other people's tenants: demolition and deliveries out of hours, dust and noise contained to the floor, lifts protected, and the fire alarm and sprinkler work coordinated with the building engineer rather than discovered by him. Panel capacity confirmed before the lighting is specified, not after it arrives.

Your property will not appear here
We do not photograph a client's property for marketing, name anyone as a client, or discuss a house or a building with anybody. If we ever want to show a job, we will ask in writing, and you may simply say no. Everything that eventually fills this page will have been agreed first.

An assessment costs nothing and obliges you to nothing. Describe the building and the division it belongs to, and we will tell you plainly whether it is work we should be doing.
