What this site collects, and what it does not

A short, plain account of what happens when you read these pages or send us an enquiry. If anything here is unclear, write to [email protected] and we will answer it in plain words.

Who we are

Amalfi Group, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This policy covers amalfibg.com and the email address published on it. We do not operate an app, a customer portal or a login, and nothing is sold through this website.

Reading the site

What is collected if you only read

Three measurement tools, used to understand which pages are read and which lead to enquiries. None of them is an advertising tool, and none of them is used to follow you to other websites.

ToolWhat it recordsCookies
Google Analytics 4 Pages viewed, how you arrived, approximate city derived from your network address, device and browser type. Yes
Microsoft Clarity How the page is used — scrolling, mouse movement and clicks — including a replay of the session. See below. Yes
Cloudflare Web Analytics Page views and load performance only, counted without identifying the visitor. No

Our host, Cloudflare, also keeps ordinary server logs that include network addresses, as every web host does.

Session replay, said plainly

Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used and lets us replay that as an anonymous session — where a reader scrolled, what they clicked, where they stopped.

We use it for one reason: to find out where a page is failing a reader, which a visit count cannot tell us. It is not tied to your name, and we are not watching anybody in particular. Text typed into the enquiry form is masked before it leaves your browser, so what you write in those fields does not appear in a recording. If you would rather not be recorded at all, the switch at the foot of this page turns it off along with everything else.

Enquiries

What happens when you contact us

You give us your name and email, and optionally a company or property, a telephone number, a city and a description of what is needed. We ask for nothing else, and you are free to leave the optional fields blank.

  1. The form is carried by Web3FormsA third-party service that takes the submission and emails it to us. It passes through their systems on the way. We do not use them to store a database of enquirers.
  2. It arrives in our email, run by Google WorkspaceFrom that point it sits in an ordinary mailbox, read by us, and it is subject to Google's handling of mail in transit and at rest.
  3. We use it to answer you, and for nothing elseNo list, no newsletter, no marketing sequence. We do not sell enquiry details, trade them, or pass them to anyone who is not working on your job.
  4. We keep it while it is usefulEnquiries that go nowhere are deleted within about two years. Correspondence tied to work we carried out is kept longer, because records of work performed have to be kept.

What we never do

Shorter than the list above, and worth stating directly.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not run advertising or retargeting pixels on this site, so reading these pages does not cause our advertising to follow you elsewhere. We take no payment here and store no card or bank details. There are no accounts and no passwords. We do not knowingly collect anything from children, and nothing here is aimed at them.

If any of that changes — and if we ever advertise, it will — this page is changed first, with the date at the top updated.

Other services this page talks to

Loading any page here causes requests to a small number of third parties, each of which necessarily sees your network address.

Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site. Google Fonts serves the two typefaces the pages are set in. Google and Microsoft receive the measurement described above, unless you switch it off. Web3Forms is contacted only at the moment you submit an enquiry, never before. Each of these publishes its own privacy terms, which govern what they do with what they receive.

Your choices

Whether or not a particular statute applies to a business of our size, these are available to anyone who asks.

Write to [email protected] and ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. We will answer within thirty days and we will not make you explain why. If you have sent an enquiry and simply want it erased, say so and it is erased.

You can also clear or block cookies in your browser, and most browsers let you refuse third-party cookies entirely. Doing so does not stop you reading anything here.

Turn measurement off

This switch is kept in your own browser, on this device. While it is on, the measurement scripts are not loaded at all — not blocked after the fact, simply never fetched.
